Indian Institute of Management or commonly known as IIM Kashipur was started in the year of 2011 is a new player in the leading league of IIMs. It is a public business college and one of the thirteen IIMs the govt. has created during the 11th five year plan. The institute is situated in Kashipur, Uttarakhand and its foundation stone was put by HRD minister Kapil Sibal. The IIMs Kashipur is considered as the youngest institute among the other Indian Institute of Management established in country. The institute is founded with the aim of offering high quality management education while preparing students towards the necessities of the society. The campus is under the mentor ship of Indian Institute Management Lucknow.

The college offers two-year Post graduation programme in management (PGDM), a 2- year Executive Post Graduate program in management with non – residential doctoral executive fellowship course in management to begun from July 2014. The study program puts focus on overall personality development and instructs ethics of leadership and reliability. The demanding program seeks to impart a passion for knowledge and skill to apply that knowledge to practical life scenarios. Indian Institute of Management Kashipur extends its faculty strength by engaging senior faculty from best Indian business schools and frequently invites business experts to link the gap between theory and practice.

About the campus of IIM
The institution is situated in one of the most densely developed regions in India with more than 180 businesses having plants in and nearby the area and much more lining up. This puts the institution at a vantage point when it comes to ‘Learning by Doing’ through many industry interactions and live projects.

Indian Institute of Management Kashipur is the first IIM institute being created in the state of Uttarakhand. The campus is spread above 200 acres; IIM Kashipur became active in 2011 in a temporary location placed at Ganna Sansthan, Bazpur Road Kashipur near udham Singh Nagar. Near about 200 acres of land in the Escorts Farm region of Kashipur, Uttarakhand have been assigned by the Uttarakhand govt. for Indian Institute of management Kashipur’s new Campus.The applications are invited for the first batch of students for 60 seats by its mentor institute IIM Lucknow.

Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management
It is a two year post graduation degree. The course is introduced to build professional managers with solid conceptual basics and skills needed to manage businesses of future, during giving them the idea to decide what the future will be. Subjects generally studied under this programme are Quantitative Methods, Principles of Management, Managerial Economics, Marketing Management, Financial Accounting, IT for Management, Organizational Behavior, Corporate Communication, Human Resource Management, and Operations Management etc. This program is full time and residential, eligibility for which is an under graduation certificate in business management/business administration. The candidates fulfill the program necessities are granted the Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

Executive Post Graduate Program in Business Strategy (EPGPM)
The candidates joining this study program should have two years of work experience after graduation.

Placement opportunity at Indian Institute of Management
Summer Training is a part of the syllabus for the Post Graduate Programme students, where scholars gain direct experience which offers them with ample openings to implement the knowledge and talents gained in the first year. Placements for the graduating batch begin in the fifth semester of the course, by which time the students are capable to improve all the skills wanted to work in a company.

What is the admission procedure at IIM Kashipur
The procedure that is being implemented for selecting the talented students for Post Graduate Programmes (PGP) at IIM Kashipur for the academic year 2015-16 involves two stages.

Stage - I applies to all eligible and interested applicants who have performed for CAT exam to determine those succeeding candidates who will be informed for Stage – II.

Adequate number of students fit in to different classes is short-listed in Stage – I for achieving the Government of India standards on reservation.

The admission to the (PGP) Post Graduate Programme offered by the institution is done by the CAT- Common Admission Test and the admissibility norms are the same as those for CAT.
