Tungnath, Chopta, Chandrashila are one of the major attractions of Uttarakhand. The whole trek of these three points would be an unforgettable experience for you. The journey will start from Chopta which is a quaint small town that is still unfamiliar to visitors. This is starting point of the journey towards Tungnath which is the 3rd Kedar. On trekking 1.5 km more from Tungnath you will reach Chandrashila which is located at an elevation of 4000 meters above sea level. From there you can enjoy watching 360° panoramic view of blizzard clad peaks of Himalayan and also Chaukhamba, Trishul and Nanda Devi.
Not only from Tungnath but you can also have a picturesque view of Himalayan range, Chaukhamba, Trishul and Nanda Devi. Situated at an elevation of 2680 meters above sea level chopta has wide range of flora and fauna. The place is surrounded by dense deodar, pine and rhododendrons forest.
As Chopta is well connected with motorable roads it is quite easy to reach the place. It is on the way to road linking Gopeshwar and Guptkashi. Your morning in Chopta would be the best morning for you where you would awake with pleasant healthy gentle wind and chirping sound of various birds which will give a soothing feeling to you rather than annoying voice of automobiles in cities. In winter Tungnath, Chopta and Chandrashila are roofed with snow. If you love to enjoy snowfall then Dec to Feb is the right time for it when you can see snowfall and can trek in snow. At times roads may remain blocked in Chopta due to heavy snowfall.

Valley of Flower in JuneIt is suitable time to visit the valley of flower as more and more pilgrims visit the place for Shri Hemkund Sahib. Due to this there is rise in food cost, transport facility and staying charges. You would also find it hard to search for rooms during this time. But you can see certain flowers in June. Not only will you enjoy watching beautiful flowers but also vast and fine-looking waterfalls and glaciers in this valley of flowers. There is minimal or negligible rain in this month.
Chopta in SummerIn summers the climate of Chopta is decent and pleasant. Slowly coming cold air can be enjoyed while experiencing the fantastic view of Himalayas. In summers it would be good to wear light woolens.
Chopta in WintersIf you are looking for tranquillity and isolation for sometime then a visit to Chopta in winters is the perfect solution. You would enjoy the snowfall here in winters and the feel would be awesome as it seems like Switzerland in this season.
