Darwan Singh Museum is a historical defense museum that has earned its name after the first Victoria Cross Holder from the Garhwal Rifles, Mr Darwan Singh Negi. It saw its inception in the year 1983. The museum holds unique collection of Garhwali Rifles and is located near the Parade ground in Lansdowne, Pauri Grahwal.
Darwan Singh Museum- Rarest Historical Collection
Darwan Singh Museum displays some of the rarest defense collection that comprises details and accomplishments of Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army. Visit to museum somewhere instills sense of pride in Indians and offers sight to wide collection of some old photographs of patriots, army generals, old uniforms, certificates and citations that are signed by the British Royalty.
Photography and children below ten years are not allowed inside the museum. In the museum premises, there is a small and well-maintained garden that comprises around 10-12 varieties of rose. Close to the museum there is a Garhwal Rifles War Commemorative and Parade Ground that is not accessible to common public.
Timings- 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00pm
Entry fee is 50 Rs per person
