Located in the Pithoragarh District in the state of Uttarakhand, and above sea level floating at 1,725 meters elevation, Didihat is well known part of Uttarakhand tourism. The location of Didihat is at a top the plains of Digtarh with river Bhadigad or Charamgad streaming below. This is one of beautiful towns in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state.
The name Didihat is suggested from a Kumauni language word “Dand” which stands for a small hillock. Basically Didihat is Nagar Panchayat and subdivision of district Pithoragarh. This small and beautiful hilly town is enriched in natural magnificence with lush green flora and surroundings making this place as nature’s paradise.
A famous ancient temple known as Sirakot (Malaynath Mandir) of Lord Shiva is situated at Didihat which is built by Reika Kings. A small hill spot called Berinag is situated about at distance of 53 kilometer from Didihat. This place is well known for flora and fauna and pure natural beauty. About 10 kilometers from Didihat, Narayan Swamy Ashram at Narayan Nagar is worth watching destination.
Didihat is rich in offering panoramic views of Himalayas and lush green valley surrounded by striking ridges. It falls on the pilgrimage route to Kailash Mansarovar. The standard literacy rate of Didihat is approx. 79% which is above than the average literacy rate of India.
