Suspended at an elevated level of 3,050mts, Ghangaria is a wonderful scenic destination above sea level that lies in the periphery of Uttarakhand State. On the way to Hemkund Sahib and the valley of flowers Ghangaria happens to be the last habitation center. The place is the meeting point of Hemganga River and Pushpawati River which is also called as Lakshman Ganga . Hemkund Sahib and Valley of flowers can be reached by a trek of along the banks of River Alakhnanda from Govind Ghat which is based at NH58.
From Govind Ghat tourists have to travel an easy trek of 13kms that unfolds mesmerizing beauty of nature and will surely leave you spell bound with beautiful mountains and cascading waterfalls to cherish the view. The 10km trek from Govind Ghat ends at a bridge. Hereafter, one has to take up 3kms trek to Ghangaria which is a steep path.
Ghangaria region is prone to heavy rainfall during winters and the entire region is closed from December-April. The place also offers rest houses for easy and comfortable stay of travelers here. A gurudwara, GMVN rest house and few private hotel set ups are available here.
