Tungnath, Chopta, Chandrashila are one of the major attractions of Uttarakhand. The whole trek of these three points would be an unforgettable experience for you. The journey will start from Chopta which is a quaint small town that is still unfamiliar to visitors. This is starting point of the journey towards Tungnath which is the 3rd Kedar. On trekking 1.5 km more from Tungnath you will reach Chandrashila which is located at an elevation of 4000 meters above sea level. From there you can enjoy watching 360° panoramic view of blizzard clad peaks of Himalayan and also Chaukhamba, Trishul and Nanda Devi.
Not only from Tungnath but you can also have a picturesque view of Himalayan range, Chaukhamba, Trishul and Nanda Devi. Situated at an elevation of 2680 meters above sea level chopta has wide range of flora and fauna. The place is surrounded by dense deodar, pine and rhododendrons forest.
As Chopta is well connected with motorable roads it is quite easy to reach the place. It is on the way to road linking Gopeshwar and Guptkashi. Your morning in Chopta would be the best morning for you where you would awake with pleasant healthy gentle wind and chirping sound of various birds which will give a soothing feeling to you rather than annoying voice of automobiles in cities. Enjoy visiting Chopta in Monsoons when you can enjoy watching the greenery of the place which shows majestic view of nature’s beauty. In monsoon you can enjoy watching snow covered Himalayan peaks while taking a sip of tea. You may encounter roads blockages sometimes in monsoon because of landslides for few hours but you will never forget the visit in Chopta.
